ADCS Clinics Announces the Acquisition of Dermatology Associates of Northern Michigan

MAITLAND, Fla., – ADCS Clinics (“ADCS”) announced it has completed the acquisition of Dermatology Associates of Northern Michigan in Petoskey, Michigan.

Dermatology Associates of Northern Michigan, founded in April 1999 by Drs. Robert Charles and Roger Potter, after the closure of Burns Clinic Medical Center in Petoskey Michigan. The Clinic had been in continuous operation for more than 50 years, providing multispecialty care from 150 physicians prior to its closure.

Dr. Murray Cotter took over the practice in 2009 upon the retirement of Drs. Charles and Potter. The practice has therefore been serving the community for almost 50 years, spanning three generations of dermatologists.

Dr. Cotter grew up in the Detroit area. After thirteen years of training at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where he received his BS, MD, and PhD degrees, Dr. Cotter took his residency training in Dermatology at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He subsequently completed a fellowship in Mohs surgery and cosmetic dermatology at the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Cotter is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American College of Mohs Surgery. Dr. Cotter is the author of numerous scientific publications, textbook chapters, and holds a US patent.

ADCS, founded in 1989 by Dr. Matt Leavitt, is a dermatology-focused practice with over 100 clinics in Colorado, Florida, Ohio, Nevada, Michigan, Pennsylvania, South Carolina and Wyoming providing clinical, cosmetic, surgical and pathology services. ADCS also provides billing and coding management services for almost 90 third-party dermatology practices across the nation under the Ameriderm(TM) trade name.
